Vrekka Datann is one of my oldest role-playing characters, and has seen many incarnations in many worlds. In computer games, his appearance differs due to what is available in the character creation.
He has a tanned complexion, long black hair pulled back in a ponytail, and blue eyes (sometimes brown, depending on the world he's created in). He's typically of average height and fairly muscular. In contrast, he usually has not had much education beyond the basics. He has a generally friendly disposition, and seemingly easily baffled by things he doesn't immediately understand (he uses this to his advantage in certain situations).
He is a swordsman and an archer, gravitating towards scimitars and longbows where available. He is also a good horseman, often found with a horse named Brick.
His beginnings are always common, usually calling from peasant farmers in a rural community. He then leaves home to seek adventure as a mercenary or bounty hunter.
